Mauricio Prieto leads Team Swim 4 Good and eDreams, the main sponsors of Marnaton, an organization that aims to popularize open water swimming in Spain.
As part of Marnaton, Prieto organizes the 6.5 km Marnaton eDreams Cadaqués that attracts over 600 swimmers.
Prieto and his wife Susan Moody are currently training to swim across the Strait of Gibraltar to raise funds for Worldreader.org, a non-profit organization focused on using e-reader technology to bring books to children in 7 African countries. These children have never had access to books before. With his swim scheduled for July together with his wife, they are already 34% on their way to their $100,000 fund-raising goal.
Prieto’s blog (OWswimming.com) showcases interviews and guest posts with swimmers from Triple Corona Antonio Argüelles to tennis superstar Rafa Nadal. It also features a 5-minute survey that hopes to shed light on the what, why and where of open water swimmers. Take the survey here.
The survey will provide an overview of the open water swimming world.
Take the survey and learn more about the sport. After a sufficient number of survey are compiled, the results will be compiled by Prieto and posted at OWSwimming.com
