Darian Townsend, a South African gold medalist in pool swimming, looked strong and confident at the aQuellé Midmar Mile relay on Saturday morning. He led a strong group right from the start as he pulled away at the finish.
His performance gave Chad Ho and Troy Prinsloo a hint of the strength of competition they will face on Sunday at the elite division at the Midmar Mile. While Ho will be seeking his fourth consecutive victory, Prinsloo will be looking for his third victory – but Townsend stands in the way.
It will be a great race among the top men.
