Christine Jennings Talks About The Next Stage

Two-time FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup victor and professional marathon swimmer Christine Jennings talks about the next stages of her career.

Jennings has been among the top American open water swimmers over the last two quadrennials – from 2007 to 2015 – as have Eva Fabian, Haley Anderson, Ashley Twichell, Emily Brunemann, Becca Mann, and Tristin Baxter.

But with Jennings moving on, we wonder what top American female open water swimmers will pick up the mantle for USA Swimming.

Certainly Mann will remain in the mix as will Stephanie Peacock, Lindsay Vrooman, Megan Rankin, and Kaitlin Pawlowicz. But with a slew of fast teenagers coming into their own, both in the pool and open water, we are sure that many young American girls plan to follow in the footsteps of two-time Olympian Haley Anderson.

But even Anderson is relatively young in open water years and may have another Olympics or two under her cap.

One thing is for sure now and in the future: open water swimmers can expect the unexpected.
