Chloë McCardel is getting closer to game day.
From Australia to Florida to the Bahamas, McCardel is undergoing her final preparations for her upcoming marathon swim attempt across the Florida Strait from Cuba to Florida.
Without any stinger suits, cages, or protection of any kind other than sunscreen, she may go on the next break in the weather. The water is warmer than usual and she is waiting for that optimal calm of 2-3 days.
McCardel’s feat hails back to 1950 when the first swimmers attempted to swim from Havana, Cuba to Key West, Florida. It will be an adventure back in time.
