Chelsea Gubecka, Kareena Lee Go 2 For 2

Chelsea Gubecka and Kareena Lee went 1-2 again in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia at the 2016 Australian Open Water Championships.

17-year-old Gubecka and 22-year-old Lee topped the podium for the second day in a row after finishing the 5 km in 59.58.98 and 1:00.00.58. 19-year-old Kiah Melverton just touched out Japan’s Yumi Kid for third in 1:00.08.40 to Kida’s 1:00.19.64.

Besides serving as its national championships and Olympic qualification selection meet, the Australian Open Water Championships also had championship races for its 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18-year-olds.
