Charlotte Webby Wins New Zealand National Title

Charlotte Webby won her second consecutive national championship at the New Zealand Open Water Championships 10 km race in Lake Taupo.

In a tune-up for the upcoming Australian Open Water Nationals and the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim qualifying race in Portugal in June, Webby led from the start to finish comfortably ahead of her competition in 2:09.31, ahead of last year’s champion Penny Hayes in 2:13.21 and Stefannie Gillespie (Zenith) in 2:14.20.

The race was part of the Epic Swim Festival that attracted over 650 swimmers, racing from 100 meters to 17.5 km.
