The Ventura Deep Six Relay is off this early California morning under wavy seas on their incredibly bold 202-mile (325K) adventure down the Southern California coast in what can be only described as inhospitable waters. Follow their world record non-stop, non-assisted (i.e., no wetsuits, no shark cage) relay attempt via Facebook.
You can also follow Tom Ball (50), Kurtis Baron (46), John Chung (40), Jim McConica (59), Jim Neitz (42) and Mike Shaffer (45) via Twitter as they update their experiences and impressions of the cold water (as low as 12 degrees C), large sharks, huge swells, irritating whitecaps and massive blue whales en route during their three-day journey.
