Bogusław Ogrodnik (60, Poland, MSF bio here, IISA bio here, @boguslawogrodnik) clearly enjoys adventures in the world’s oceans and up and down mountains.
The Polish native and attorney from Wrocław completed a characteristically tough (and long) 20 hour 46 minute crossing of the North Channel and became the second person in history to achieve the Double Sevens – completing both the Seven Summits in 2006 and the Oceans Seven on July 8th 2026. Only 8 days after Rob Lea (43, USA, MSF bio here, @rob.lea) did history’ first Double Sevens, Ogrodnik equaled Lea’s feat at the age of 60.
After climbing the summits of Kilimanjaro (5,892m) in Africa, Vinson Massif (4,892m) in Antarctica, Kosciuszko (2,228m) in Australia, Mount Everest (8,848m) in Asia, Elbrus (5,642m) in Europe, Mount McKinley (6,194m) in North America, and Aconcagua (6,962m) in South America, Ogrodnik set off to complete the Oceans Seven all while also completing Ice Miles, competing in IWSA winter swimming events, doing Ironman Triathlons, and completing lake and bay crossings (Lake Balaton, Lake Tahoe, Gulf of Gdańsk, Galway Bay, Tampa Bay), Cozumel Channel in Mexico, and the Tampa Bay Marathon Swim, and coaching a team Polish Ogrodnik Team where he has mentored many.

But he has also stoically faced DNSs and DNFs along his journey:
