Daniel Slosberg spoke highly of his lifeguard paddler in his Catalina Channel two-way crossing.

Lifeguards around the world risk their own lives for others. They are often called into duty, occasionally paddling for their channel swimmers, never flinching when a shark looms near, ever-ready to give the ultimate protection to the swimmer.
