Boatmen, Pilots, Crews, Unsung Heroes Of Marathons

The boatmen, pilots and escort crews of the amateur and professional marathon races around the world, including the Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe – Coronda, Maratón Acuática Internacional Ciudad de Rosario, Traversee international du Lac St-Jean, Ohrid Lake Swim Marathon, Novi Vinodolski, Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli, Jim Whelan Open Water Festival, International Self-Transcendence Marathon-Schwimmen, 40 Bridges Double Manhattan Island Swim, 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim, India National Open Long Distance Swimming Championship, SCAR Swim Challenge, Swimming Marathon of the Messinian Gulf, Open Water Swimming Marathon Kalamata, END-WET, 20 Bridges Manhattan Island Swim, and many others have to remain focused throughout their multi-hour races.

They have to manage the safest and quickest way through currents, eddies, waves and turbulence, they have to regularly feed their swimmers, and they have to keep their swimmers motivated while maintaining their own focus and ignoring their own comfort, very frequently volunteering their time and talents.
