Avram Iancu (48, Romania, MSF bio here, @avramiancu) has started to get into the flow of his 530 km Triple Crown of River Stage Swims in the Rhine River. He is now approaching Day 4 as he swims from the North Sea to the Black Sea through the heart of continental Europe.
He posted, “I’ve arrived in Nürnberg while passing under 7 more bridges and 2 impressive locks, traveling 14.4 km. We left Schwanstetten at terminal 85.7 and reached beyond the Eibach lock, and stopped at the entrance to Nuremberg at terminal 72.7 while the day was hot and the police called us to the shore for a routine check. With the heat, many people lined the banks of the canal. On Day 3, Iancu reported, “The tone of the day was set by Augustin Jenaru and his wife Ramona who wanted to meet me when I arrived in Nürnberg. He invited us to a hearty meal and offered us 3 nights of accommodation, in carefully chosen locations according to our route. In a scorching heat, I walked 11.3 km yesterday from the entrance to Nürnberg to Fürth at threshold 60. The water temperature was 25°C.
There was a special moment: crossing a water bridge where the canal itself runs over a bridge where vessels were sailing.“

His support crew is lead by escort boat pilot Ulise Galu and observer Radu Ilean.
