Bill “Ciastko” Welzien (USA, 75, MSF bio here) completed his 151st warm-water 20.1 km circumnavigation swims around Key West in southern Florida over the last 34 years.

On June 28th, Welzien completed a 6 hour 53 minute 28 second swim as part of the 49th Annual Swim Around Key West. The swim was his 10th swim around the Island in 20 consecutive weeks. His son David Welzien was his support kayaker along the course with 15-20 mph winds where 150 solo swimmers, 10 two-person relays, and 10 three-person relays competed simultaneously.
