Mexico’s Antonio Argüelles Díaz-González will attempt his fifth Oceans Sevens (Siete Mares) swim in the Molokai Channel in Hawaii this week. It will be another channel attempt after he has completed crossings of the English Channel (twice), Catalina Channel (twice), Strait of Gibraltar and the Tsugaru Channel over the course of his career.

Antonio has a good chance for a crossing Monday night,” said Steve Haumschild. “Nora Toledano and I are scheduling the swim with Jeff Kozlovich and [pilot] Mike Twigg-Smith. Antonio can be tracked here.”

Epilogue: Argüelles completed his crossing of the Molokai Channel in 23 hours 18 minutes at the age of 56.
