Anton Janezich and Susan McKay Win 25 km Border Buster

Spread the love

32-year-old Anton Janezich (@swimmeranton) took advantage of nearly perfect conditions on Lake Memphremagog in Vermont on July 27th to crush the existing 25 km Border Buster, finishing in 5 hours 37 minutes in the cross-border Kingdom Swim.  He posted afterwards on his growing Instagram, “That is why you put in the work. We’re just getting started. Let’s keep grinding.

45-year-old Susan McKay was second overall and the first woman in 6 hours 6 minutes, escorted by kayaker Kathy McKay.

Race director Phil White described the race, “And there was some gritty and determined swimming on the other end of the spectrum, with 61-year-old Tom Hyderdahl of Ottawa who won a gallon of maple syrup for finishing Last One Back to the Barn in the Border Buster with a time of 11 hours 33 minutes.  Watching 60-year-old Nadine Ford of Charlotte, North Carolina and a member of the Mohagany Mermaids, finish the last leg of her one-mile swim was inspiring. There’s just no give up in her.”
