Americans In South Korea

The coaches of the American swimmers competing at the 2019 FINA World Championships in Yeosu, South Korea will be very familiar with the swimmers of the team.
Catherine Kase of USC will serve as the head coach of Team USA and is the coach of Haley Anderson. David Kelsheimer of Team Santa Monica is the assistant coach and the personal coach of Jordan Wilimovsky. John Payne of TAC Titans also serves as an assistant coach who coaches Ashley Twichell on a daily basis. Bill Rose of the Mission Viejo Nadadores is another assistant coach who used to coach Twichell and David Heron who finished in the top 10 at the 2017 FINA World Championship 10 km race and is looking to qualify for his first Olympic Games.
In the last FINA World Championships in Hungary, Twichell won gold in the 5 km, a silver medal as part of the 5 km relay team and finished in the top 10 in the 10 km.
Coach Kelsheimer placed another one of his athletes on the national team, Katy Campbell while Hannah Moore of Wolfpack Elite, Erica Sullivan and Brennan Gravley of the Sandpipers of Nevada, and Michael Brinegar of the Mission Viejo Nadadores will round out the team:
- Haley Anderson of Granite Bay, California and the Trojan Swim Club: 10 km
- Katy Campbell of La Cañada, California and Team Santa Monica): 25 km
- Hannah Moore of Cary, North Carolina and Wolfpack Elite: 5 km
- Erica Sullivan of Las Vegas, Nevada and the Sandpipers of Nevada: 25 km
- Ashley Twichell of Fayetteville, New York and the TAC Titans: 5 km and 10 km
- Michael Brinegar of Columbus, Indiana and the Mission Viejo Nadadores: 5 km
- Brennan Gravley of Las Vegas, Nevada and the Sandpipers of Nevada: 5 km and 25 km
- David Heron of the Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo Nadadores): 10 km and 25 km
- Jordan Wilimovsky of Malibu, California and Team Santa Monica: 10 km
5 of the 9 swimmers and 3 of the 4 coaches come from the state of California.
