
Two days after the 10 km races of the 2026 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships were completed in Marine Stadium, several open water swimmers took to the pool in various events in Irvine at the Championships to represent their respective countries.
- Roberto Valdes Ochoa (19, Mexico, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 800m freestyle (8:23.57) and in the 1500m freestyle tomorrow
- Ashley Twichell (37, USA, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 1500m freestyle (16:29.42) and in the 800m freestyle tomorrow
- Becca Mann (28, USA, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 1500m (16:31.42) and in the 800m freestyle tomorrow
- Jacqueline Davison-McGovern (22, Australia, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 1500m freestyle (16:31.47) and 400m freestyle (4:13.73)
- Mariah Denigan (23, USA, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 1500m freestyle (16:43.24) and in the 800m freestyle tomorrow
- Sasha-Lee Hemmens (29, South Africa, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 1500m freestyle (18:02.17)
- Katie Grimes (20, USA, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 400m individual medley (4:35.67) and in the 800m freestyle tomorrow
- Joey Tepper (24, USA, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 800m freestyle (8:01.92) and in the 400m freestyle (3:51.31)
- Emma Finlin (21, Canada, World Aquatics bio here) will compete in the 800m freestyle tomorrow
- Kiara Banks (18, South Africa) competed in the 1500m freestyle (18:03.06) and in the 800m freestyle tomorrow
- Moesha “Mo” Johnson (28, Australia, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 400m freestyle (4:07.75 + 4:05.97) and 1500m freestyle (15:53.49)
- Ichika Kajimoto (22, Japan, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 400m freestyle (4:07.92 + 4:07.47) and 1500m freestyle (16:00.10) and 800m freestyle tomorrow
- Callan Lötter (20, South Africa, World Aquatics bio here) competed in the 400m freestyle (4:15.92) and in the 800m freestyle tomorrow
- Ivan Puskovitch (25, USA, World Aquatics bio here) will compete in the 1500m freestyle tomorrow

So when you combine the stamina of Moesha Johnson with her 4:05 400m speed, that is an athlete who will be hard – nearly impossible – to beat in the coming years.
