Active.com wrote a race preview of this weekend’s USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships in Long Beach, California.
As we observed some of the world’s top swimmers (from the US, Canada, Mexico, Hungary, South Africa and Egypt) train, the lengths of which their coaches will go in order to properly train and escort them is impressive.
One coach, Jack Fabian, father and coach of one of America’s top open water swimmers, Eva Fabian, carries an unusual bit of carry-on baggage wherever he travels.
Jack carries a water temperature, GPS unit and a folding canoe (from Pakboats) so he can escort his daughter and swimmers – anywhere – on an impromptu or planned open water workout.
