Cox is equally well-known as a channel and pioneering swimmer and an author of six non-fiction books including Swimming to Antarctica: Tales of a Long-Distance Swimmer, Grayson, South with the Sun: Roald Amundsen, His Polar Explorations, and the Quest for Discovery, The Day the Whale Came, Open Water Swimming Manual: An Expert’s Survival Guide For Triathletes And Open Water Swimmers, and Swimming in the Sink: An Episode of the Heart. Her seventh book will be published in 2021.
