A Monster Challenge For Teenage Cancer Trust

The Great Big Monster Sea Swim is an unprecedented swim from Guernsey to South Devon in England. The relay is an 81-mile (130 km) charity event for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Scheduled for August, the 5-man team includes Karl Whittaker, Paul Irwin, Dr. Bruce Hughes, Jon Parker, and John Jameson.

Our goal is a corporate initiative to raise £100,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust,” explains Irwin.

Our swim is held up as the epitomy of a team working together to achieve something outstanding and challenging. Open water swimming is the new marathon running. Steve Oldfield will be donning a wetsuit and swimming part of the first leg with us.

Teenage Cancer Trust build specialist centres to give a home-away-from-home for teenagers with cancer. Jackie King is our coach; Mark Foster is an ambassador for our swim and updates will follow our progress [see here] throughout our training and during the swim.”
