“With 200 meters to go in Copacabana Beach, I was very excited about the probability of earning an Olympic medal,” said Marc-Antoine Olivier.

Ultimately over the last stretch of all-out sprinting in a tight pack of 8 swimmers, the then 21-year-old French open water swimmer earned a hard-fought bronze medal behind Ferry Weertman and Spyridon Gianniotis and emerged as an Olympic medalist.

And he commemorated his experience at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games with a unique tattoo on his chest showcasing the Olympic rings, the Christ the Redeemer statue atop Mount Corcovado, and Sugarloaf Mountain.
