Wörthersee Is Coming Up

Ola Bednarek is a Polish open water swimmer from Łódź, Poland who participated in the IISA 3rd World Championship in Murmansk, Russia and is currently gearing up for the Wörthersee Swim Austria on February 28th and 29th.

The events all follow the rules of the International Ice Swimming Association and include a 50m and 100m breaststroke, 100m and 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m individual medley, 4x100m mixed freestyle relay, 4x50m mixed medley relay, 50m, 100m, 200m and 500m freestyle, and an Ice Kilometer and an Ice Mile.

Participants of the Ice Kilometer must provide written evidence that they have swum a distance of at least 500m in water below 5°C over the last 12 months. Similarly, participants of the Ice Mile (1609m) must provide written evidence that they have swum a distance of at least 1000m in water below 5°C over the last 12 months.
