CANDELARIA, Zambales, Philippines. The Zambales Dragon Boat Festival in Luxon, Philippines will add an open water swim to its festivities in the 112-hecare Uacon Lake. Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. explained, “We want Zambales to be known not just as a tourism destination, but also a sports tourism destination since we have the best venues for a multitude of events here in Zambales.”
Uacon Lake is known as the best inland water body in Central Luzon. “This is flat water, which is really what you need. More importantly, it is a natural body of water that teems with marine life.”
