The natural beauty of Santorini with its beautiful sunsets, volcano, and views of the Aegean Sea is the site of the 10th annual Santorini Experience between October 10th to 12th.
The Experience includes running races as well as a 2.4 km sea swim from the volcano to the old port of Fira along the impressive view of the island.
To date, there have been Olympic, professional, and amateur swimmers from 35 countries who have participated in the Experience from the USA, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Finland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Italy, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Serbia, Croatia, and Greece.
One of the returning swimmers will be two-time Olympian Yasu Hirai Fukuoka (35, Japan, MSF bio here, World Aquatics bio here, @fortheloveofyasu) who last won the race in 2019. After stepping back in the sport for several years, Hirai is on a comeback trail with a medium-range plan to represent Japan both on the 2026 World Aquatics circuit and, ultimately, at the LA28 Olympics.
