Writing and Open Water Swimming by Glenda Carroll

Dead in the Water, a 222-page novel by open water swimmer Glenda Carroll, is set in a a cool Sierra lake and published in 2013 [see more details here].

Her second book, Drop Dead Red (A Trisha Carson Mystery Book 2), is a 297-page novel set on a beach near San Francisco Bay and the swimmable lakes in the East Bay and published in 2017 [see more details here].

Her third book, Dead Code: A Trisha Carson Mystery, a 272-page novel is set in Lake Berryessa, Napa County’s largest lake and published in 2021 [see more details here].

Better Off Dead is her fourth and most recent 317-page book that is set in the cold San Francisco Bay and became available on March 7th [see more details here].

81-year-old Carroll, a long-time swimmer, sailor, surfer and journalist from San Rafael, California, writes about what she knows well. She has long been involved in organizing and promoting competitive open water swims in Northern California. Her series of murder mystery books are centered around amateur sleuth Trisha Carson where numerous scenes come from open water swimming races that could be held from California to Croatia and many places between.

Carroll has been an editor and writer for national and international sailing, surfing, and travel publications, and serves as president of the Northern California Chapter of Sisters in Crime and a member of Mystery Writers of America.
