World Open Water Swimming Man Of The Year – Poll Update

After ten days, a close battle is shaping up among the top six men in the World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year poll, with the rest of the nominees following in their wake.

One of the goals of the World Open Water Swimming Awards is to call attention to all the heroes of the sport, from adventure swimmers to elite professionals, from race directors to publishers, from competitive athletes to solo swimmers.

These awards are not necessarily for the best athlete, but are meant to honor the men and women who (1) best embodies the spirit of open water swimming, (2) possesses the sense of adventure, tenacity and perseverance that open water swimmers are known for, and (3) has most positively influenced the world of open water swimming in 2011.
