Open Water Swimmer reported that 2008 Olympic gold medalist Larisa Ilchenko may not be as retired as widely reported (see here).

Open Water Swimmer posted this quote from the Olympic champion, “This decision was very difficult to me, but I just put in order their health and believe that the risk must be justified. We still do not feel the strength to be selected for the Olympics and the fight for victory. I want to be remembered invincible.
