The Terrigal Swim Fest is part of the World Series Swims held in Terrigal Beach, New South Wales, 85 km north of Sydney. The coast is known for its Norfolk pine-lined esplanade, ocean swimming, surfing, and the iconic Skillion lookout with a vibrant mix of cafes and boutiques.
In other words, an iconic location for an open water celebration.
The Terrigal Swim Fest includes small-group swim clinics led by famed Australian Olympians Michael Klim (World Aquatics bio here) and Ky Hurst (MSF bio here, World Aquatics bio here) and the main events with ocean swims ranging from 300m to 5 km and a Knockout Sprint Relay. There were swims for everyone, young and old, fast and slower.
In the featured 5 km race, two-time Olympian Yasu Hirai (35, Japan, MSF bio here, World Aquatics bio here) won with Abbie Yourell topping the women’s race:

Cooper Woolley and Katie Diamond won the 3 km race. Bodi Bone and Stella Webster won the 2 km race. Kye Goldie and Alexandra Hall won the 1 km race. Deane Sweeney and Rita Dean won the 300m race.
