Where’s The Research On Open Water Swimmers?

Are swimmers healthier than other athletes?

The question was raised if any peer-review research has been conducted on the differences (if any) between the (1) life span (quantitative data) and (2) quality of life (qualitative data) of lifelong swimmers and (a) endurance athletes (runners, cyclists, triathletes) and (b) the average citizens (of any other country).

Has it been documented that there a direct relationship between one’s physical health and one’s life span and/or quality of life, specifically when swimmers are the subject of the comparative data.

Seems like a healthy subject to explore.
