Former English Channel world record holder Lyndon Dunsbee was inducted as an Honour Swimmer in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame in 1988.

His 1984 France-to-England crossing set a record (8 hours 34 minutes) that was only surpassed 3 times since (Eric Johnson with a 8:20 crossing in 1985, Philip Rush with a 8:15 crossing in 1987 and Richard Davey in 8:05 in 1988). After his induction in 1988, he got the itch again and completed a England-to-France crossing in 1989.

Dunsbee is currently the Pool Manager of the Folkestone Sports Centre in Folkestone, and coaches triathletes.
