than 130 swimmers from 31 countries are meeting in Welland (Ont., CAN), host of
the first-ever international youth-dedicated open water swimming competition –
the FINA World Junior Open Water Championships – taking place from August
16-19, 2012.

the first-ever international youth-dedicated open water swimming competition –
the FINA World Junior Open Water Championships – taking place from August
16-19, 2012.
The
competition program includes three events and competitors are divided in two
age groups: 14 to 16 year-old men and women will enter a 5km race while the 17
to 18 year-old swimmers will take the plunge for a 7.5km effort. A 3km Team
Event (entered by three swimmers for one team) will also be organised for both
age categories.
