Vidösternsimmet, Smiling In Sweden Stroke-by-Stroke

Vidösternsimmet is a 21K open water swim in sjön (Lake) Vidöstern in Småland, Sweden. The race is traditionally held in August with the next race to be held on August 4th 2012.

Vidösternsimmet is Sweden’s longest open water swimming competition that stretches from north of Osudden in Jönköping County to the Strait of Kronoberg in the south.

The race is divided into five different legs between 2.5K and 4.1K where swimmers stopped for hydration and refueling. Wetsuits and orange-colored swimmer safety devices were used.
