
The 36th annual Sri Chinmoy Marathon Swim, a 26.4 km race from Rapperswil to Zürich, Switzerland will feature the following skin swimmers:

There will also be dozens of wetsuited and relay swimmers participating in one of the world’s most renowned marathon swims in Lake Zürich.

67-year-old Vasanti Niemz of Germany [shown above] has participated in the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Swim Rapperswil-Zurich nine times – spanning her 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, and now in her 60’s:
- 1996 in 9 hours 53 minutes at the age of 39
- 1998 in 9 hours 39 minutes at the age of 41
- 2002 in 10 hours 55 minutes at the age of 45
- 2003 in 10 hours 59 minutes at the age of 46
- 2007 in 11 hours 20 minutes at the age of 50
- 2010 in 9 hours 48 minutes at the age of 53
- 2015 in 10 hours 19 minutes at the age of 58
- 2017 in 10 hours 25 minutes at the age of 60
- 2018 in 11 hours 58 minutes at the age of 61
Other renowned athletes in this year’s event include Nick Adams who has crossed the English Channel 17 times and is an Honor Swimmer in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame in the Class of 2013, German Ice Ironwoman Conny Prasser, and Spanish marathon swimmer Margarita Llorens Bagur, president of the Menorca Channel Swimming Association and member of the 24-hour Club.
