USA Swimming National Open Water Championships: Youth versus Veterans

Spread the love

USA Swimming will hold its Open Water National and Junior National Championships in Sarasota, Florida, starting with the women’s 10 km race, followed by the men’s 10 km race on April 2nd.

New Guard versus Old Guard

On one side of the equation, the Old Guard is represented by 2020 Tokyo Olympian Ashley Twichell (37, MSF bio here, World Aquatics bio here, @atwall616, shown above on left), and long-time USA National Team members Becca Mann (29, MSF bio here, World Aquatics bio here, @becca__mann, shown above on right) and Brooke Travis (26, MSF bio here, World Aquatics bio here, @_btrav). Meanwhile, the New Guard is represented by 2024 Olympians Emma Finlin (21, World Aquatics bio here, @emma.finlin) and Mariah Denigan (23, MSF bio here, World Aquatics bio here, @mariahdenigan), and fellow national teammate Brinkleigh Hansen (17, World Aquatics bio here, @brinkleigh_hansen).

Can the wily veterans hold off their hungry, younger competitors?

Watch online.

All races (10 km, 5 km, 3 km Knockout Sprints) will be live-streamed on the USA Swimming Network (watch for free here).
