Unprecedented Swims To Tory Island

Spread the love

A relative latecomer to open water swimming, Enry Phillip O’Donnell was the first swimmer to swim from the Irish mainland to Tory Island (first in 1995 and then again in 1997) and the first person to swim from Tory Island to Arawmor Island. He was the Donegal Swimmer and Sports Star of the Year in 1993. Following a neck accident in 1992, he continued swimming even though he was told he would never walk again.
