TV Globo broadcast some great videos of victorious Australian Trent Grimsey and his female counterpart on top of the award podium, Ashley Twichell, from the King and Queen of the Sea (Rei e Rainha do Mar) competition in Rio de Janeiro.

TV Globo also captured some great footage of amateurs and Brazilian Olympian Allan do Carmo as well as the other pro athletes like Valerio Cleri. Other clips from the event are shown here.

And despite the heated competition in Copacabana Beach, the athletes gelled and developed great friendships, demonstrating the wonderful camaraderie between open water swimmers.
