As in re-GPS, pre-internet, pre-hybrid…and pre-goggles.

“I do not like to wear goggles on my open water swims,” said the Long Beach, California native. “My eyes get a little red in the 5K, but I am trying to develop my aquatic mammalian instincts.”

His eyes get a little rosy, but are framed with a big wide smile.
