Turbulent Dryland Near The Catalina Channel

Open water swimmers can handle turbulent conditions with surface chop, oncoming waves, and ocean swells.

But it usually rare to find signs along the coastal road – like those in Southern California near the Catalina Channel – where swimmers are warned that the land itself may move [due to earthquakes and other land movements].
