The Speed, Stamina, and Experience of Olympic 10K Marathon Swimmers – The Women

Spread the love

24 men lined up on the starting pontoon that spanned the Seine at the 2024 Olympic 10K Marathon Swim.

They were all world-class fast and were ultimately led by 3-time Olympic medalist Sharon van Rouwendaal of the Netherlands who took control of the race from the start. While she occasionally relinquished or shared the lead, her renowned training regimen and pool speed enabled her to capture her second Olympic gold medal.

The field’s speed and stamina in the pool and open water are world class and as a result of the hard work they put in every day of their training.
