We had the pleasure of talking about professional marathon swimming in the 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s with Marwan Saleh is a professional marathon swimmer from Syria. He recalled famous races from Canada to Egypt. A record-setting 9 hour 27 minute English Channel swimmer in 1976, Saleh also completed eight 32 km Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean races, five times of 24 Heures La Tuque race, and 11 times the 35 km Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli from 1969-1980.
