The Lost Sea is America’s largest underground lake, part of the extensive Craighead Caverns deep inside a mountain in East Tennessee.
The 4+ acre lake is a Registered National Natural Landmark and site of a large collection of rare anthodites, known as Cave Flowers, with boats and tours.
If there were open water swimming there, the venue has a 234-meter x 67-meter section where large rainbow trout exist (both fishing and swimming are not permitted) in a constant 58° temperature.
