If you are an open water swimmer or triathlete, you might want to train in the endless wave pools to be developed by the Kelly Slater Wave Company. Slater is the 11-time world surfing champion and entrepreneurial visionary.
The rendering on left shows a doughnut-shaped endless wave pool for surfing, but we can easily envision this circular pool as the ultimate in rough water training, especially if you swim counter to the wave direction.

This one-of-a-kind destination celebrates the best of beach culture and the surf lifestyle and delivers an unparalleled wave riding experience tailored to each guest. As surfer, spectator or beachgoer, you choose your experience.”
As an open water swimmer or triathlete, we would alternate going with and against the waves in sets of 15-minute intervals.
