This week alone, swimmers from Hungary, India, the United States, Ireland, South Africa and Greece are attempting solo crossings of the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Update: Steve Walker of USA [shown on left] was successful in his crossing as was Phia Steyn of South Africa and Keith Garry of Ireland.
