The British Are Coming, The British Are Coming…to Sarasota, Florida

Sarasota, Florida will be a busy venue in April with the USA Swimming Open Water National and Junior National Championships combined with the USMS Sprint-Distance and Long-Distance Open Water National Championships and a special SwimTrek open water swimming clinic held between April 2nd – 4th.

Schedule

April 2nd: USA Swimming 10K National Championships: Women at 8:00 am + Men at 10:30 am

April 3rd: USA Swimming 5K Junior National Championships (16-U Age Group): Boys at 8:00 am + Girls at 8:10 am
April 3rd: USA Swimming 3K Knockout National Championships: Women at 10:00 am + Men at 11:30

April 3rd: SwimTrek Open Water Clinic: beginners at 2 pm + advanced swimmers at 3 pm

April 3rd: USMS 1-mile Sprint-Distance Open Water National Championships: first wave starts at 5:00 pm

April 4th: USA Swimming 5K National Championships: Men at 8:00 am + Women at 8:10 am
April 4th: USA Swimming 3K Knockout Junior National Championships (16-U Age Group): Boys at 10:00 am + Girls at 11:30 am

April 4th: USMS 5K Long-Distance Open Water National Championships: first wave starts at 1:00 pm

USA Swimming and U.S. Masters Swimming members as well as international swimmers who are members of their World AquaticsI-affiliated governing body are welcomed to compete at the Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. The clinics will be led by an experienced SwimTrek guide and USMS coach.

There will be 6 loops of the course for the 10 km races and 3 loops of the course for the 5 km races. A feeding station will be available only for 10 km races.

Proceeds from the SwimTrek clinic will benefit the USA Swimming Foundation which supports USMS Adult Learn-to-Swim grants. SwimTrek is based out of Brighton, England and offers swimming holidays to over 50 different destinations from Europe and Asia to the Americas and the Caribbean, catering to different skill levels [see photos below].
