
Nace Majcen (Slovenia, MSF bio here, World Aquatics bio here) is currently a coach at Športno Društvo Delfin, PK Ribnica in his native Slovenia.
The former professional marathon swimmer won the famed 16 km Faros Marathon Swim held in Croatia in 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1995 where he started his career as a 14-year-old. He also won the 25 km European Open Water Swimming Championships and finished fourth in the inaugural 25 km FINA World Championships held in Perth, Australia in 1991. He competed again at the 1994, 1998, and 2002 World Championships 5 km and 25 km races.
He also competed in several professional marathon swims over a 12-year period between 1990 and 2002. These races included the 38 km Atlantic City Around The Island Swim in 1990, the Maratón Acuatico Río Coronda in 1992, the Ohrid Swim Marathon in 1993. In 1994, he raced at the 26 km Tapes Marathon, the 88 km Maratón Hernandarias-Paraná, followed by the 36 km Riviera Marathon, the 30 km Ohrid Swim Marathon, and ended the season at the 1994 World Championships 25 km race in Rome. His career included the 25 km Maratón Acuática Internacional Ciudad de Mar del Plata, the 25 km Rio Copacabana, the 57 km Maratón Acuática Internacional Ciudad de Rosario, the 38 km Maratón Acuática Internacional Ciudad de Mar del Plata, the 25 km Swim Across the Sound, the 15 km Alexandria International Swimming Marathon, the 15 km El-Gouna Marathon, the 15 km Ismailia Marathon, the 40 km Traversée Internationale du lac Memphrémagog, the 32 km Traversée Internationale du lac St-Jean, the 28 km Terracina Circeo Terracina, the 25 km Haikou Hainan.
He traveled to Egypt, Macedonia, Italy, England, Argentina, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Canada, Croatia, Japan, and Germany over the course of his prolific career.
