SwimTrek Guides: Makers of Magic

Spread the love

Natasha Haim of SwimTrek presents opportunities that did not exist before SwimTrek came into existence.

SwimTrek, established in 2003 by visionary British aquapreneur Simon Murie, created the market of guided open water swimming holidays.  From his first trip to the Greek Cyclades in July 2003 to currently over 40 locations in over 20 countries worldwide, SwimTrek continues to expand with the growing global interest in swim holidays

Haim explains, “We are now recruiting Swim Guides for this summer on our European tours. Guides are contracted on a self-employed basis, normally with 4 to 6 week location-based contracts.

A SwimTrek Guide is proactive self-starter with a passion for open water swimming, enthusiasm and skill in providing impeccable customer service, and most importantly: the ability to ensure that our trips are delivered to the highest safety standard.

The roles of a SwimTrek Guide are many and varied and for that reason we contract guides who are solution-oriented, practical, organised, punctual, energetic, personable, and dynamic. Our guides are the face of the company and the makers of magic.

This key role involves living and working closely with a second SwimTrek Guide for 4 to 6 weeks on location, as well as working closely with local boat crew and suppliers. While the role is supported and managed by the Operations Team in the Brighton Head Office, a very high degree of self-sufficiency on location is required to enable our trips to be safe, efficient, memorable, cost-effective and of course fun.

The list of responsibilities and the requisite skills are posted here.

Tours and holidays are located in Turkey, Egypt, Sardinia, Sicily, Baja Mexico, Croatia, Greece, Virgin Islands, Finland, Isles of Scilly, Scotland, Spain, Gozo, and throughout the Caribbean Sea.

SwimTrek has led to a new ecosystem of swimming vacations around the world.

What could take a solo swimmer weeks or months to explore, plan and execute in gorgeous beaches around the world, Simon and his colleagues at SwimTrek have already explored well in advance, planned out in detail, and worked out all the kinks,” said Steven Munatones. “So when swimmers show up, they are able to swim and experience a new location and coastline courses in the most enjoyable manner.”
