Earlier this year on February 13th at the aQuellé Midmar Mile in South Africa, there was an outstanding race with the 5 km world champion Chad Ho, Olympic gold medalist Ferry Weertman, 10 km world champion Chip Peterson, and 18-year-old South African 1500m champion Matthew Meyer.
It was a privilege to watch Weertman’s long, smooth, powerful strokes in the open water and compare his swimming style with the faster turnover of his competitors.
