Stephen Redmond is making the most of his hard-earned post-Oceans Seven fame.

He is also giving back to the community that supported him and the sport which pushed him to his limit and taxed every physical, emotion and psychological part of his DNA.

But while he becomes a beacon of inspiration, he also plans to continue stroking ahead in his swimming career.

He will swim 26 miles around Fastnet Rock, the most southerly point of Ireland again. He also plans to become the first person to swim the entire length of River Shannon next year.

The River Shannon is the longest river in Ireland at 360.5 km (224 miles) that divides the west of Ireland from the east and south and is named for Sionna, a Celtic goddess.
