Throughout the sport of open water swimming, talented swimmers abound and come from all walks of life and of all ages.
Physicians, engineers, attorneys, professors, architects, surgeons, anesthesiologists, software developers, coders, data scientists, dentists, IT managers, investment bankers, fintech developers, nurse practitioners, military officers, pilots, psychiatrists, and many, many others.
There are also many creatives who venture beyond the shoreline – like artists, writers, musicians, dancers, and filmmakers.
One of them, Brett Nystul, a renowned Art Director and Production Designer of animated features, won a 2024 Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation – Production Design for his work on the animation film, Spellbound.
Nystul will be honored for his individual achievement in production design by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards on March 1st and 2nd in New York City. Nystul was credited with creating the unique, modern fairy tale style of the kingdom of Lumbria, drawing inspiration from Spanish and Moroccan elements.
