

Kristel Köbrich (@kristelkobrich) from Chile competed in the 800m freestyle today at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Incredibly, Paris was her sixth consecutive Olympic Games.
Her first was in Athens in 2004 where she was Chile’s flag bearer in the Opening Ceremonies. The 19-year-old finished 15th in the 800m freestyle in 8:40.41 and finished 26th in the 400m freestyle in 4:18.68.
Her second Olympic experience was in Beijing where she finished 20th in the 800m freestyle in 8:34.25 and DNF’ed in the Olympic 10 km marathon swim at the age of 23.
Her third Olympics was in London where she finished 14th in the 800m freestyle in 8:29.55 and 24th in the 400m freestyle in 4:12.02 at the age of 26.
Her fourth Olympics was in Rio de Janeiro where she finished 17th in the 800m freestyle in 8:34.34 and 24th in the 400m freestyle in 4:16.07 at the age of 30.
Her fifth Olympics was in Tokyo where she finished 19th in the 800m freestyle in 8:32.58 and 14th in the 500m freestyle in 16:09.09 at the age of 35.
Her sixth Olympics was in Paris where she finished 15th in the 800m freestyle in 8:46.46 and 14th in the 1500m freestyle in 16:27.18 at the age of 38.
Along the way, she competed in many FINA World Cup and Pan American Games 10 km marathon swims.
