Selina Moreno Pasagali, a breast cancer survivor, has become the 55th member of the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming this morning in California.

With accolades coming in droves last year from Spain to America, Selina now joins a membership of her marathon swimming peers with a strong swim across the Catalina Channel.

She has been described as a gran dame of marathon swimming and an artist of life by Jose Diaz.

Her Triple Crown achievement includes an English Channel swim in 16 hours 3 minutes in August 2009, a Manhattan Island Marathon Swim circumnavigation of 8 hours 42 minutes in June 2011, and an 11 hour 11 minute crossing of the Catalina Channel today in California.
